Most open content online makes use of Creative Commons Licenses as a way of sharing resources.

Creative Commons License Types

License Types

There are six different license types and a public domain license. Full details of each license type is available on the Creative Commons website "About CC Licenses".

CCO (public domain)

CC0 (public domain)

No restrictions. Allows creators to give up their copyright and put works into the public domain.

BY- Credit must be given to the creator.

BY- Credit must be given to the creator. SA- Adaptions must be shared under the same terms.

 

CC BY-NC
CC BY-NC

BY- Credit must be given to the creator. NC- Only noncommercial uses of the work are permitted.
