Develop a comprehensive and detailed profile of a specific place that is important to you and that you feel would be interesting to a general audience.
Sources Needed:
- 3+ credible text sources
- 1+ image source
Paper Specifics:
- 3-5 pages, plus the Works Cited (1000-1500 words)
- MLA Style Citations and Works Cited page
The goal of writing a profile is to “[present] a subject in an entertaining way that conveys its significance, showing us something […] that we may not have known existed or that we see every day but don’t know much about” (Bullock and Goggin 233). Good profiles “reveal something essential through a story or series of stories – an insight, idea, theme or social cause. Some of the best profiles focus on people, places, [objects], or events that seem ordinary but are symbolic of larger issues” (Johnson-Sheehan and Paine 80).
