Some of our library databases now include AI or artificial intelligence-based research tools! These tools are not meant to replace the resources themselves but to help you locate and identify relevant resources more efficiently.

Discovery Search: AI Insights & Natural Language Search

EBSCO's new AI Insights feature summarizes articles into 2-5 key points to help you more quickly determine if results are relevant to your research.

Note: AI Insights isn't available for all results at this time. When available, a button for “AI Insights” will appear near the article information.

The new Natural Language Search feature uses AI to help connect your search to items in the library's collection. It helps locate items that use synonyms and related keywords, and it's better at understanding phrases or questions than the traditional keyword search.

Use the toggle under the search box to turn on this powerful new search option.

JSTOR Interactive Research Tool

JSTOR now provides an AI-powered Research Tool that helps you determine if an article is relevant by highlighting key points and arguments and explaining its connections to search terms. You can ask questions about the article to the AI tool and have it recommend related related topics as well.
Once you click on an article, you can toggle on the Research Tool Feature using the toggle located at the top right of the article page. (Note: This tool is still in BETA mode so in order to turn on the tool, you will need to register for a free JSTOR account.)

JSTOR article Plato on Democracy and Expertise. The AI Research Tool is toggled to on, and the AI suggestions appear on the right half of the screen, giving information about how the article is related to the search. There is also a box to ask additional questions about the article to the AI tool.
